Prof. Can Huang was invited to speak to more than 100 IP managers of the Japanese companies in a conference organized by the Japan External Trade Organization Beijing Office in Beijing on December 10th, 2015. Prof. Can Huang’s presentation is about China’s IP system and multinational companies’ patenting activities in China. Together with Prof. Can Huang, other speakers in the conference include Ms. Serena Sun (IP counsel of Royal Philips), Ms. Tong Fu (Chief Legal Counsel of Qihoo 360), Mr. Jun Ozawa (Director of IP and Legal Division of Canon). The conference is chaired by Mr. Tomotaka Homma, Director of IP Department of JETRO Beijing Office.

In his speech, Prof. Can Huang discussed the Chinese patent law and the amendments, the recent patenting surge in China and reasons, the utility model patents and multinational corporation patenting strategy in China and interacted with audience in the Q&A session.
