Prof. Greidanus was invited by Prof. Jingshu Du of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the “Vrije Universiteit” Amsterdam, The Netherlands to give a lecture on “Innovation in China” on September 22^nd. In his lecture he addressed recent developments in innovation, China’s innovation strength, the contribution of Western multinationals in creating an innovative and creative climate in China and Intellectual Property protection. Special attention was paid to business model innovation in Chinese companies like, Xiaomi, Tencent, Haier and Alibaba. Over 50 students attended the lecture.  They received an assignment to write an essay on value creation delivery by a fictitious start-up in China which is in the business of food quality testing.
