From April 13^th to 14^th, 2019, a training workshop on Strategic Management of Intellectual Property was successfully held in Binjiang District, Hangzhou. The workshop was jointly hosted by Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang District) Market Supervision Bureau and Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang District) Internet of Things Industry Intellectual Property Alliance. The workshop is organized by the Institute of Intellectual Property Management of the School of Management Zhejiang University and Hangzhou Youzhibo Intellectual Property Information Technology Co., Ltd.

Director Lv Dejun of the Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang District) Market Supervision Bureau attended the training workshop and delivered a welcome speech. The workshop was chaired by Professor Can Huang from the Institute of Intellectual Property Management of Zhejiang University School of Management. There are about 50 senior managers, including vice presidents and chief technology officers of the companies and university scholars such as professors and graduate students participating in this workshop.

The lectures were given by Professor Ruud Peters and Professor Frans Greidanus. Mr. Ruud Peters is the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Institute of Intellectual Property Management of the School of Management of Zhejiang University, the former Chief Intellectual Property Officer of Philips and the Executive Vice President of Philips. Professor Frans Greidanus is the Co-Director of the Institute of Intellectual Property Management at the School of Management of Zhejiang University, the former President of the Philips Asia Research Institute, and the Chief Technology Officer of Philips Asia.

The workshop gave a detailed explanation of the objectives of intellectual property management, the evolution of the intellectual property ecosystem, the capture of intellectual property values and the relationship between intellectual property and human resources. It also prepared four cases for the participants to discuss and work in groups. The trainees actively participated in the training and group discussion, and interacted enthusiastically with the two professors on strategy management of intellectual property .

This workshop was held in order to assist the enterprises at the Binjiang District to learn intellectual property management theory and experience from internationally leading experts, improve their capability of strategic management of intellectual property, and promote the innovation and development of enterprises.
