(Professor Frans Greidanus gave a speech)
There are over 200 Dutch professors and/or Chinese professors who studied in the Netherlands and teach at a Chinese University. The Dutch Embassy and Consulates in China created a Network of these professors to share experiences and best practices. The 2nd Annual Congress of the Holland Network in China took place on April 12th at an historic place: The Shanghai Science Hall.
(Professor Frans Greidanus gave a speech)
In his speech Professor Greidanus addressed two topics: The Institute for Intellectual Property Management and an Internship Program for students at a Dutch University at Companies in China. On the Institute for Property Management Professor Greidanus discussed the history of the Institute and the Governance. He explained the unique features of the Institute, focusing on the business aspects of intellectual property. Therefore, the Institute is located in the School of Management at Zhejiang University, and not in the Law Faculty. In the second part of his speech, Professor Greidanus addressed internships. He explained the procedures for receiving a permit from the authorities for foreign students to do an internship at a company in China. This is rather complicated and must be based on an exchange program with a Chinese University.
At the end of his speech Professor Greidanus shared his learnings of being a professor at a Chinese University and gave some recommendations to the audience.
