Jury of the 1st GBI 100 Competition

On 18 February 2020 Professor Frans Greidanus participated in the Jury of the European pre-round of the 1st Global Best Innovation 100 Competition.


The first 2019-2020 Global Best Innovation 100 (GBI100) Competition is an international competition that features R&D and Innovation. The Competition is organized by the Organizing Committee of the GBI100 Competition, and co-organized by the CBT100 Forum, Xishan District of Wuxi, Xinjiang Zhongtai Group, Chinese Universities Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Centers and the Association for Collaborative Leadership (ACL). The Competition provides 100 award-winning opportunities, with the highest prize worth 1 million US dollars. The European pre-round of the competition was successfully held at the High-Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The final contest will be held in Wuxi in the Spring of 2020.


The Jury consisted of 10 experts for Dutch Economic Development and Investment Agencies, Universities and Dutch Investment companies. Prof Greidanus participated in the Jury on behalf of the School of Management of Zhejiang University.


Hundreds of companies from Europe signed up for the competition, of which 10 were selected for the pre-round competition in Eindhoven. Selected participants had 10 minutes to pitch their proposal, after which the judges and online investors in China had 5 minutes to ask questions. “Spectricity”, incubated from IMEC (Interuniversity Microelectronics Center in Leuven) was the winner of this European pre-round.
