On July 21th, 2023, Professor Can Huang gave a speech on “Intellectual Property Rights Strategy and Protection in IPOs” in Summer Forum organized by Ruihua Innovation Management Institute.

Prof. Huang underscored the challenges of intellectual property rights (IPR) management for hi-tech IPOs. First of all, Prof. Huang believes that IPR management should be particularly emphasized from multiple internal organizational dimensions concerning strategy, organization, and process. Secondly, establishing effective motivation and incentives for employees is of great importance in R&D and IPR departments. In addition, analyzing potential source of patent litigation and establish anti-litigation initiates is a strategic measure for IPOs to contain their competitors. Finally, IPO firms must actively and proactively respond these challenges via providing invalid evidence, issuing legal opinion, and other means to certify the stability of the IPR.
