The research objective is to identify corporate IP licensing or transfer corporate behaviors for companies operating in medical and healthcare devices and high technology fields.

This project provides an overview of China’s overseas patent application activities. Extending the work on the triadic patent family (i.e., USA-Europe-Japan) proposed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) the project researches two new patent family indicators namely an alternative triadic patent family (i.e., China-USA-Europe) indicator and a quadric patent family (i.e., China-USA-Japan-Europe) indicator.

This project researches the saturation of patents and its relationship with industry and technology development. It aims to propose an optimal patent saturation threshold to guide industrial development and the development of a patent system itself.

The number of patent applications submitted to the State Intellectual Property Office of China has been growing rapidly in recent years. Yet the development of a patent market in China is still lagging behind compared to other advanced countries in the world. A well operating patent market will play an important part in promoting technology commercialization and patent monetization.

The objective of this project is to provide an overview of the research and innovation system in China discuss the public and private funding of research and innovation and expenditure framework conditions for research and innovation and internationalization of research and innovation in China.
